Terms of Service

Effective 2026-04-15 · Ibaloi Translator

Welcome to Ibaloi Translator. These terms describe the rules for using the free Ibaloi–English translator and dictionary available at https://ibaloitranslator.com and its related mobile apps (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What the Service is

Ibaloi Translator is a free, non-commercial, educational tool whose purpose is to help preserve and teach the Ibaloi language (also called Inibaloi or Nabaloi), an indigenous Cordilleran language of southern Benguet, Philippines. The Service includes a searchable dictionary, word-by-word and sentence-level translation between Ibaloi and English, a grammar reference, and optional online translation powered by a third-party large-language-model provider.

2. No warranty on linguistic accuracy

The dictionary and translator are built from statistical alignment of parallel Ibaloi and English corpora. They are provided "as is" and may contain errors, outdated spellings, missing entries, wrong parts of speech, misgenerations, or inaccurate translations. You should not rely on the Service for legal, medical, academic, ceremonial, or any other use where linguistic accuracy is critical without independent verification. For authoritative guidance, please consult Ibaloi elders, published reference works, or a qualified linguist.

3. User contributions (feedback)

If you submit feedback through the in-app "Give feedback" button, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use your feedback to improve the Service. Feedback reaches us as a plain email to jbcgrafik@yahoo.com, and only after you review and send it from your own email client. If you include identifying information (your name, email, etc.), you understand that information is being shared with the Service owner by your own action.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

5. Accounts and quotas (online translation)

Offline features — word search, dictionary browsing, literal translation, phrase book, grammar guide — are available without sign-in. The optional online translator tier requires Google sign-in, and sign-in is subject to the Privacy Policy. Online translation is subject to a free daily character quota that applies per user; the Service reserves the right to adjust this quota or disable the online tier to protect operational costs.

6. Changes to the Service

Ibaloi Translator is an actively-developed open-source project. Features may be added, removed, or changed at any time. The dictionary data is updated as errors are discovered and as new entries are verified. We will update the "Effective" date at the top of this document when these terms change materially.

7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, LINGUISTIC ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE OWNER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

8. Contact

Questions about these terms, corrections to dictionary entries, or community partnerships should be sent to jbcgrafik@yahoo.com.
